AI

Make decisions with a referee.

Telos uses AI to challenge direction, connect evidence, and draft useful context. It informs the decision; the team remains accountable for it.

Setup

Choose the models your workspace trusts

Open Settings → AI, connect the providers your workspace is allowed to use, and verify them. Set a workspace default, then override individual AI tasks when a different model is better suited to the job. Search and pattern finding can be configured separately.

Reviews

Keep AI close to the decision

Open the AI half of a Direction document's right panel to write with help: ask a question in your own words, or run /review over the document on screen. A revision comes back as tracked changes inside the document, one per rewritten block, each with its own Accept and Reject. Use opportunity challenges to sharpen a proposal, alignment reviews to connect customer evidence to strategy, and PRD synthesis to turn context into a draft. Customer narratives and pattern reviews help teams see what is changing without reading every record themselves.

Reviews use the current Telos context available to them, and a writing review reads the working draft you have on screen rather than the last published version. They surface gaps and recommendations; nothing reaches a document until a person accepts it, and no review approves work or changes the organisation's commitments.

Control

Match capability to the task

Keep high-stakes reasoning on the model and provider that fit your organisation's requirements. Turn off an AI task when it is not wanted, or let it inherit the workspace default so there is one clear operating choice. Per-task assignments are useful when quality, privacy, or cost requirements differ across reviews.
